I use the 3 network (work for actually, although not in marketing), using
the Motorola A835, I can assure you that if a call is set up in 2G mode, it
will remain on 2G for the duration of the call, and will not roam back to
3G, the call will only drop if there is no O2 coverage or if the handover
adjacencies between O2 cells are incorrect. My sister has the LG phone and
it is a good bit of kit, although negative Bluetooth, the latest LG phone
has more internal memory I believe (32Mb). If you had the original NEC
e606=
,
I can say, I too had to endure this.

My experience with 3 last year was very poor and I ended up returning the
handset. My main problem was not so much coverage but the fact that the
hand-off between 3G and 2G networks when out and about was poor.

At the time, and I don't think that 3 have a fix for this yet, a call would
roam onto the 2G network (O2?) when there was no 3G coverage which was
fine=
.
However, the handset would drop the call when roaming back to 3G from 2G.

I
would want to be certain that this was sorted prior to signing up.=20

3G have some amazing tariff deals at the moment =A312.50 for 500 mins cross
network any time.

But before I consider making the plunge has anyone actually got a 3G mobile
phone?

What is the network coverage like?

Are the calls dropped easily? Is it similar to when One2One first started?

Thanks,

Ho yin
