Can you force it to just use 2G if you know you're in a marginal area?

My experience with 3 last year was very poor and I ended up returning the
handset. My main problem was not so much coverage but the fact that the
hand-off between 3G and 2G networks when out and about was poor.

At the time, and I don't think that 3 have a fix for this yet, a call would
roam onto the 2G network (O2?) when there was no 3G coverage which was
fine=
.
However, the handset would drop the call when roaming back to 3G from 2G.

I
would want to be certain that this was sorted prior to signing up.=20

3G have some amazing tariff deals at the moment =A312.50 for 500 mins cross
network any time.

But before I consider making the plunge has anyone actually got a 3G mobile
phone?

What is the network coverage like?

Are the calls dropped easily? Is it similar to when One2One first started?

Thanks,

Ho yin
