Even a 16 port switch is more than most houses "need".
I think the point that Nick was trying to make is that there are these
smal=
l
racks available cheaply. If you need something that will take a reasonably
sized switch then you may well need something bigger in which case then
these racks are not suitable for you but you don't need to spend over
=A310=

on a full size rack if you don't need a full size rack. I have a 16 port
switch that won't go in one of these small racks but I may well use one for
holding dataports and just run patch leads to my switch *OUTSIDE* the rack
