Hi Ian,

I have used an actual GSM modem instead of a mobile phone but the AT
commands are similar. I wrote my own software in Borland C++ Builder 4.0
to allow me to request and control my heating and X10 devices (thanks to
Justin's Homeseer UDP plugin)

If you can programme in any way, then it is very simple to use the SMS
commands to send and receive messages via the serial port. If you use
the ASCII mode then things are even simpler.

I am still adding to my code to expand the features and the fun in being
able to switch things on and off via the mobile is very SWMBO annoyingly
superb  :o)
