My advice would be if you can afford it, then yes, why not. There is no
disadvantage that I can think of to doing this.

You can do things in the kitchen like have when movement is sensed, if it's
breakfast or tea and it's dark turn oin the under cabinet lights as well as
the main lights, otherwise just use the main lights, or even if it's the
middle of the night, just switch on the under counter lights as you've
obviously come for a midnight feast :-)

But if you're unsure, just nake sure the cables for the non-X10 circuits
are run back as they would be if they were X10, then if in the future you
decide to put X10 in, it's no big deal.

Also, fit lots of cat5 to every room, you can never have too much cat5
