Thanks for the clue.  Let me play with that thought for a while and see
whether I can make it work.  The kids' school holidays are upon us, so
I'll take a copy of HomeSeer with me in my notebook and play for a while
on the beach.

New question: anyone had any experience with HomeSeer's TI203, the 220V
version of their TI103 interface?  Is it more reliable or otherwise any
improvement on the X-10 CM12U?
