Re: PCMCIA WiFI card for Fuji 510...

OK, now I'm confused...
The WPC11 is a 32 bit card...
What gives...?

I read (http://www.positivesale.com/point510faq.htm)
that:

====================================
"My network card won't fit into the computer?

The Point 510 uses a 16 bit PCMCIA slot. 32 bit cards will not fit.

What is the difference between 16-bit and 32-bit PCMCIA cards (PC cards)?

The basic differences are as follows:

Mechanical/visible differences noted: 32 bit cards have bumps on a gold or
similar color strip at the end of the card near the female pin contact
edge,
on the top of the card. The side of the card also contains different
notches on the 32 bit card. These notches inhibit you from placing a 32 bit
card into the 16 bit slot.
Performance differences: 16 bit is older and not as any bits! The PCMCIA
controller in the PT-510 is older.
I need a network card for the Point 510, how do I tell if the it is a 16
bit
or 32 bit card?

Easy way to tell is if you have a picture of the item or it is stated as 16
bit. We sell cards off and on, check our inventory if you need a network
card. Many wireless cards are 32 bit so be careful. Also, many (almost all)
PCMCIA CD-ROM's and PCMCIA USB adapters are 32 bit."
====================================

Confused,
Andy.
