VFD vs LCD

Looking for a small display to attach to a PC in the lounge which would
display snippets of info continuously. Having a look at the Crystalfontz
CFA634-TMC-KS or possibly a Matrix Orbital VFD2041. Main difference is
one being LCD and the other a VFD. From peoples experiences whats a
reasonable viewing range for these devices, I would probably want to see
them from @ 10 feet ish. I'm guessing the VFD would be the clearest, but
I'm not sure on the LCD module, any advice welcomed.
