I've just noticed that the current version of my chosen "proper"
editor now offers "Seamless FTP editing now support Windows, Unix,
MVS and VM servers".

Anyone who does serious programming should be using a tool of this
calibre, and if you are old enough to remember Brif, thats one of
several editors that Zeus emulates almost impeccibly. Editor
religious war not required :)
