That is exactly the point.  And if set up (which is not an arduous
task, taking only a couple of minutes) so that the microvave
coverage area is similar to the PIR, then through wall visibility is
usually a big problem.  And as you need to trigger both within a
short time window for a trigger, as a problem it is almost non
existent.

The PIR/microwave I'm glancinging at now (standard C&K)in my lounge
has been installed for nearly 20 years, and hasnt false alarmed
yet.  It does get false IR triggers due to air warming through
sunlight and central heating, it gets microwave triggers from the
stairs and very occaisionally next door, but never both at the same
time.

If you've not noticed dual tech PIRs, they have three leds, one each
for PIR and microwave and a third for "both".
