Well, to do this the xPL way, you would need xPLHal:

And the xPL-Meteor service:
http://www.xpl.myby.co.uk/downloads/xplmeteor/xplmeteor.zip

Currently on my own setup, when an incoming call is received, a script is
fired off in xPLHal which announces the caller's name/number and displays
it on my SliMP3 (amongst other things, like pausing Winamp etc.)

We'll hopefully be releasing an article on how to distribute caller ID from
the Meteor to a variety of xPL-enabled devices in the not-to-distant
future.

If you want to try it out sooner, just download the above files and wander
over to the UKHA_XPL group and I (and no doubt the others) will be happy to
take you through what is required.
