[OT] BT ADSL service blocking Ping

Afternoon all,

I thought that you may be interested in this,

My wife works for a large Bank who have a lot of homeworkers.
She has just told me that suddenly staff were unable to connect to the
office via their work provided home ADSL lines.
It turns out that BT had blocked 'pinging' on all of it's adsl connections
without bothering to mention it to anyone.
They claimed that it was to prevent viruses.

Don't know if this is an isolated case or if it's country wide
