RE: iPronto



Does it have a standard Windows OS or some proprietary stuff? I guess if
not, they're going to be up against tablet PC's with IR hardware or
wireless links (for the HA crowd).

Quite large - maybe smaller than A4, but not by much, and about 8cm
thick.  Definitely too heavy / large to use as a handheld TV remote.
Nice buttons on the front molded into the plastic and a sturdy feel to
it - I liked it! :-)

What's it look like in the flesh? Pics I saw of it looked a little ugly

Just spent an hour playing on the new iPronto from Philips - *Very* nice
indeed. 802.11 connectivity, a lovely colour touch screen, web browsing
built in and a very competent built in menuing system.

Should be just the ticket for a desk top / wall mount remote access pad
- but I suspect it might be a little pricey when it appears in the UK.
