That's not a crossed cable!!

The way i've always made crossed cables is as follows.

1 White Orange 3
2 Orange 6
3 White Green 1
4 Blue 5
5 White Blue 4
6 Green 2
7 White Brown 8
8 Brown 7

Basically for a 10Mhz network, you cross the oranges and the greens
(1 to 3, 2 to 6, 3 to 1 and 6 to 2)
I was always told that you cross 4 & 5 (the blues) and 7 & 8 (the
browns) for
a 100Mhz cable.

Hope this helps
