They do but you need an ISDN service which offers CLIP - HH does not.

To use the Vigor remote activation - which does work very well - you could
=
always find out from BT how much it would cost you to upgrade to ISDN2e.
Th=
en you would need a TA to provide connectivity to your analogue devices
and=
depending on the TA you may or may not be able to allocate a specific numb=
er to an analogue port........

Alternatively you could see how much it would cost you to upgrade to
Busine=
ss Highway and ask for CLIP......but then the rental increases.

If I were you, and I had the time, I would go the meteor route and have
wha=
tever the meteor is plugged into initiate the ping on recognising a
specifi=
c number. It just seems more fun to me and seeing as you already have the
m=
eteor less cost than a service upgrade!=20

This will work on HH as you do get analogue CLI from it. If you have the
HH=
split for one business and one domestic number then you'll have to decide =
which line the meteor is going to monitor as the phone will obviously ring
=
in the house when you dial in to trigger the Internet dial up.=20

One thing to think of, you may need to consider the timing, if the number
r=
ecognition to ping action happens too quickly and the router attempts a
dia=
l up while you are still ringing in its no dice as the ISDN channel may
not=
be available!

Anyway sounds like fun, good luck.

I also have HH with no ADSL, I also have a Vigor but I don't have a meteor
=
so have not done this for myself.

Another thought - if you choose to ping the remote address of your office
n=
etwork you could also get the VPN up in an automated fashion.

Rgds,

David

The Draytek Vigor series of routers have a caller-ID based auto-dial=20
feature...

You tell the router the number you want it to recognise (e.g your
mobile)=20
you then dial-in to your ISDN number from your mobile, the router gets the=
=20
caller-ID, (but doesn't answer the call), & in response dials an
outgoing=20
WAN connection to the ISP....

At least that's how I think it worked from memory....

(It was a long time ago that I last had ISDN...!)
