Yup.. PSU fan is no1 noise maker in small PC's!

It's the same for the shuttle line, I couldn't believe the amount of noise
it was making, so throttled the big cooling fan down to 2000RPM and that
didn't make any difference at all... only other fan in there was the PSU...
needless to say that was ripped out and replaced :-)  now much quieter...

Indeed.  I just got my 1U box going at the weekend again...(number 8 here

) and it makes a
horrendous noise!  And that's with the internal fans disconnected...so it
must be the PSU.
