Re: [OT] need a batch file writing please.

Hi Dean,

If you have MSN Messenger on your computer, just have it logged on and it
w=
ill keep the line active. Has worked for me in the past much to my horror
w=
ith my online time after I was away for a week.

I am actually looking at something for this myself using SMS messenging
and=
a small application on the PC. You would need a GSM modem (about =A3130) c=
onnected to a free serial port and my software. With this, the idea is
that=
your router only connects after you send a preset message, your router wou=
ld then hangup after the idle time so would only be online for as long as
y=
ou need to connect to it.

Regards
Dave...

Due to living in a Village I am one of many who cant have ADSL. I
therefore have to manage with ISDN.

Is it possible someone could write me a batch file that would ping
something every 10 minutes. If this is possible I could then connect via
my VPN to Home without my wife being there to connect for me.

Thanks

Dean.
