Some Xbox DVD drives won't play cd-r or dvd-r, on these drives, cd-rw and
dvd-rw seem fine.

The Samsung drives seem to be the best of the bunch playing pretty much
anything you throw at them. If you have an extra 2 holes in the dvd-tray,
you have a Samsung drive.

If you don't, you then either have a Thompson or Philips drive.

Pics of the trays on each DVD-drive here

If you want
to know which drive you have.

Cheers, Des.
