UKHA2003 - Thank You All!

I've just about recovered enough from the sleep deprivation and
de-hydration
to finally post this message.

It's been great to read so many positive messages from other people. It's
so
good to meet up with you all again. Great to meet the new people too.
Saturday night was excellent. Glad I had "saved myself" on the
Friday night
though! :)

Pretty much without even realising it, we had two serious new HA products
actual have their *launch* at UKHA2003. They're both so new that their
website won't be up for another week or two, but keep an eye on these
URLs...

Great to see representation from the Clipsal company there too. I think
it's safe to say the C-Bus range is now being considered by many people.

The A/V shootouts had some "technical difficulties" but were none
the less
very interesting. Something to re-visit next year I think.

We had a good mix of hardware and software there, and the "static
displays"
were excellent too. Many people had put a lot of thought and effort into
their displays, as well as carting a huge amount of kit to the hotel to set
it all up.

While the hotel was very good I think we're pretty much all agreed the
"geography" of the conference rooms at meet was the least
successful part of
the weekend.

If we had known how many people were coming we could have had at least two
big rooms beside one another. Nearly thirty people paid at the door on
Saturday. It would be great if people could commit to booking early next
year. That way we can get bigger/more conference rooms.

The hotel manager introduced himself on Sunday morning when he came to see
what all the strange people were doing in the Pioneer Suite :) He said we
could get a better room rate for those staying over night if we do a big
block booking next time.

Quite a few of us arrived on the Friday afternoon. I think we'd need to
use
that time next year to start straight into setting up the stands so we can
launch straight into the event at 10am on the first day.

I have so many people to thank...and I'm going to chicken out and not
mention names, because I know I'd forget someone! So, you all now who you
are...many many thanks for a superb weekend!!!
