I've had a PVR250 for a while. I had to return the first one to Scan (and
wait a month or two whilst they processed the return) as the card just
wouldn't record anything without video jumping around. For watching TV
setting the PVR250 preferences to 12Mbps gives me quality far better than
TiVO, and for recording I use 4000kbps CBR which is just as good as my old
VHS tapes. Switching between channels does take ages (the PVR250 looks
like it resets its mpeg encoder each time).

I did have problems with the replacement card with the sound being jumpy
(noticable on music videos), but it seemed to be a conflict with something
WinAmp3 did to my system and removing all traces of WinAmp3 cured it.

Cheers, Mark
