Well - it must have been 1998 the first time I saw this.

At a hotel room in the North Carolina, ethernet port in the room, and
a laminated card with "how to configure your PC for DHCP" for
Windows
and Mac users.

Five years on, and this is STILL not happening in UK hotels, except
at extortinate charge-out rates.
