Seconded.

I used to use a x10 telephone responder to control the heater at the
office.  The minimum-maximum thermometer (old fashioned mercury U
shaped thing, not a modern gizmo) stll has 39C as the max temp
reached, after the thing turned itself on whilst I was on holiday
last year...

Now the heater is err - locally - controlled.
