RE: USB -> Cat 5



I seem to remember a post here quite a few months back about a product
that converted USB to Cat5 and vice-versa - or am I imagining it?

You can extend USB using CAT5, but no more than 5-7m.. if you need more,
use
a repeater for each 5m, max. 4 repeaters (25m).
I have done some tests and with STP cable you can have even 7m between
repeaters (hubs), but no more than that.
