Re: Connecting Skydigibox to WLAN?

The slot that u refer to is a CAM Conditional Access Module slot. Most sky
boxes have them but due to tuning limitations of sky boxes it is very
difficult to use aditional cams in them. The format of cams is the same as
PCMCIA cards but the interface is totally different. So i dont think that u
will be able to use it to network with.

Subject: [ukha_d] Connecting Skydigibox to WLAN?

Just got an Amstrad Skydigibox and noticed there's a PCMCIA slot on the
back - putting an 802.11b wireless LAN card into it doesn't seem to blow it
up, but just wondering if anyone has worked out how to 'install' the
software needed to get a connection established to a wireless access point
(Dlink AP connected to DSL router).
Can create an ad-hoc connection to the card in the machine and a PC can see
a good signal, but obviously can't work out whether it has an IP address or
not...
Would like to be able to use this wireless link to receive the video signal
on a PC on my home network...
thanks
Marc
