No problem extending, as long as you use a sufficient size cable.  Easiest
way is to star wire to each lamp straight from the transformer that way
each wire is only carrying the current for one bulb.  I fitted some LV
halogens at the weekend, star wired 3 halogens from a 0-150w transformer
with 1.5mm T&E.  Run lengths of about 2-3 metres each.
