There's lots of talk on various forums about x4 not working on the Sony
(various combinations of disc and IDE config). I can't get mine to burn
at x4 at all :-(
Some people recommend downgrading firmware to 'd'.
What firmware ver do you have?
Paul.

Nice, since I happen to own an Epson 950. ;)
However, I had to buy some blanks at the weekend and got some Infiniti
x4 discs and they do burn at x4 in the DRU500 quite nicely thank you. I
backed up an almost full disc in a shade over 15 minutes from putting
the disc in the drive and getting it out!
Now I'm think x4 is the way to go!
