It's a bit of both - getting away from noise sources and positioning the
XM10U in the right location. For the same reasons, I'm about to hard-wire
my XM10U into my Hager enclosures with the 40 odd LD11's in!

No I'm afraid not, no UPS. I've just tried moving the XM10 around to
new sockets though and things seem to be improving. So rather than
noise sources being the problem, it seems to have been where the
XM10U was plugged in. If that resolves things, then that will be
excellent. I was getting worried that it would never work!
