Yes - that's the kind of thing that I meant by product maturity.

The Arrowpoints (which I've now remembered are called Cisco 11000s)
had heartbeat cables and automatic failover back in 2001. (Maybe late
2000?)

... but today's Cyclones don't :-(

To be fair, the Arrowpoints back in 2001 cost about 20 times what the
Cyclones do now.
