RE: [OT] 2Mbit ADSL

I presume that if you want two ADSL lines, you need two physical telephone
lines?

Paul.

But if you're using a multi-part FTP client etc to upload - won't this be
quicker? i.e. uploading one large file but in several chunks (can you do
that?)

Paul.

Actually scrub that it does still use 2 IP addresses, so will only ever
achieve 256K per transfer :-(

The A&A solution looks a lot better as it bonds the lines at the ISP
end, meaning you really do get 512K instead of 2 chunks of 256K in the
router solution (The highest single upload speed would only ever be 256K as
it is comming from 2 different IP addresses).

Bonding

of two or more 512k/1Mb/2Mb ADSL is possible with their Firebrick unit or

using a Linux server. Our 2Mb ADSL service is with Andrews and Arnold and

their customer support is fantastic when compared with BTOpenworld.
