Re: OTish - Digital Wireless Phones
It's a feature I find very useful when making handset-to-handset internal
calls...
Whereby each handset is assigned a name such as "Lounge",
"Bedroom 1" and so
on....
Then when making internal calls, instead of having to press "INT
<handset
number>" or "INT *", another handset can be selected by
name, usually from
the phonebook I guess... - much more user friendly, especially for SWMBO
and
for guests....
I know there are some handsets that have the feature, - I believe the new
BT
Diverse 4000 range does, and I've definately seen it implemented on a
couple
of other makes too (none of which I particularly like the look of
though...)
Unfortunately, it seems to be one of those features that must be considered
unimportant, as it never seems to make it onto the feature highlight list
on
the outside of the box, even when it *is* supported... and the sales
numpty's just look at me blankly and ask the same question that you just
did... :-)
Invariably, I have to try to get the numpty to open a box and let me peruse
the owners manual to try to find out for myself....
