My Clipsal rep has mention C-Bus 3. Cant remember exactly what, but it will
be backward compatible, and i think it was to do with transfer rates and
stuff.
I'll try to find some more info.
Dean.

Subject: Clipsal Logic Programming - was [ukha_d] FirM
I think this logic operation mainly (only ?) refers to a feature in the
dimmers - I haven't used it. In my setup I use xAP of course for all logic,
timing, sequencing etc .
Quoting Clipsal.
"It is not permitted for a single channel to have multiple
associated Group Addresses (because this allows conflicts to develop very
easily). Some Clipsal Lighting output units include special group addresses
which are allocated to logic functions instead of channels. These permit
complex conditions to be set up. However, the use of logic functions in
output units is discouraged and is planned to be removed in future
products"
Now I don't know whether this means that future output hardware will not
have this functionality or that it will be removed from the programming
software meaning you will lose it in existing units. It would seem there is
a much better way of doing this anyway as the logic functions are as you
say
limited.
At the UKHA meeting the Clipsal guy talked about C-Bus 3 - later this year
- I am not convinced he meant this - and I think he was referring to the V3
release of the programming software - currently at v2.6 or above. He said
that all recently shipped hardware already has support inbuilt for V3 and
would work transparently. I look forward to seeing what new bits are in
there.

Hi Kevin / Dean
I was referring to the Dimmer Logic...as i understand it
(not having done the C_Bus course) you can only assign a group once (to a
key input) ..I needed to have some of my lights controlled by key inputs as
well as pir,s via aux inputs so i have logically ored both inputs in the
Dimmer logic programming..........Have a look at the link...

Frank - tell me a little more about what you mean here - do you mean the
logic functions within the software programming and if so what in
particular
- I haven't used this bit too much
- and I suspect the xAP interface would resolve all that for you wouldn't
it
??

Good Stuff ;-))HomeBrain sounds quite good nice to see a UK HA product...
Although im not sure if you have been shown the logic programming for
C_Bus...at the moment its a little limited IMHO......
