Having a quick look through the RS catalogue - there are quite a few 'Hall

Effect' current sensors in there - they are pretty pricey though, ranging

rom roughly =A318 to =A380! You'd need to make up a simple circuit to go

Ahh, ok.
Do check that the quiescent current consumption of the pump is zero=20
when it's not operating. If the flow switches are doing anything more=20
sophisticated than switching mains, then the current associated with=20
powering any on-board controller when the pump is in "standby"
may be=20
enough to trigger a current detector.
