Re: Intro

Thanks for the ideas.

How much are the touch panels approx?
Do you use the Germany distributer?
I would like to attach a touch screen to a 17" wide tft model. Are
these sizes available?
Could you fit a touch screen within an existing tft case or would I nees to
make a new housing?

Hi Peter,

I built my own touch screen controlled computer from some stuff I bought on
eBay and brand new parts too.

Check out www.embeddedcomputer.co.uk for some brief intro to it all. Look
for the MP3 player on the projects page. I'll be updating this over the
next
few weeks as I have some new photographs to put up.

As for doing it, it is really straight forward and you could also use one
of
the VIA Eden boards but these don't have an LCD interface on them so you
can't hook up a basic TFT panel as I did but you could use a VGA input LCD
but these are much larger which is fine if this is what you want. The touch
is very easy if you can arrange to mount the LCD and touch screen yourself.

What sort of thing are you looking for?

Dave...

Hi

Just started to get interested in HA and found the web site after looking
at a Rio/Dell Audio receiver. I now looking to take the next step in multi
room audio.

Any recommendations for controlling a HTPC with mp3's etc from a wireless
pocketpc? Is there additional software requirements or could I just use
Active sync with some kind of software as a front end on the server?

Also anyone had any success using a touch screen panel/monitor connected
directly to a server for controlling music?

Next step will be a Nebula card for a PVR project.

Peter
