Thanks for the help everybody..... Seemingly nothing to worry about
then. I would have thought that the UI would have not given the option
to control colour if it was not available. The 'stretch widescreen mode'
does not work in RGB, and it UI allows for this.
I have a copy of the EURO-4 service manual, and that gives details of
entering engineers setup, so I might have a dig around on that.

This is normal, even professional RGB monitors won't have colour
adjustment. The colour adjustment affects chroma or saturation. This can
easily be done
on a composite or S-Video signal before it is converted to rgb to drive
the
picture.
An rgb signal drives the picture directly and so it is not possible to
adjust the saturation without rematrixing the signal. There will be
individual rgb adjustments, but these may not be so accessible.
