RE: USB -> Serial

I've got several USB to serial converters (cost somewhere in region of
=A31=
5 each or so). Work great on W2K with no hacks etc - just showed up like a
=
regular serial port :-) . All my HA stuff works a treat with them. Not
trie=
d Pronto though.

They're small, slightly transparent blue with a clear cable. Not sure
where=
I bought them - scan maybe. Was as a result of a post here to the group an=
d I've seen a post about them since. Driver shows 'Prolific Technology
Inc'=
. Obviously OEM.

Well, anything involving connecting with a modem to the net to it will=20
definitley tell you wether it works in both directions :)

Alternatively, uploading from a Pronto and downloading to a Pronto would=20
do the same thing.

Cheers
