Following on from the conversation about s-video & Joytech AV leads,
I've
decided to use the scart portion of the lead and another of the scart
sockets
on the back of the TV, this has the advantage of auto switching between TV
&
DVD, but it does mean it all becomes even more complicated switching using
the remotes.

To that end it's time to reprogram my Pronto, but I don't have any serial
ports on the lappy.

Has anyone used a USB->serial cable to program theirs? I've heard
stories that
some of the cables don't present a proper COM port to the system, so many
devices can't actually use them ...?
