The big breakthrough was to add the line..
&main::process_serial_data($state);
.. so that the data received on the serial port is tested
against the entries in "items.mht".

I hope the installation goes smoothly.
I've had my Comfort unit for a couple of years now, but
done nothing with the HA (outputs) side.  I'm not in any
hurry ;)
