The last PC I built for my brother in law came with a selection of
"hole
cards" for want of a better description. There was a rectangle cut out
of the back of the PC case and you just clipped that in there, I still
have a couple of these cards, and even if I don't I bet there's a few
ukha'ers that do :-)

The CPU is easy to mount, just drill some holes and cut out for the fan
even that can be square.

The brackets for drives etc may be a problem, but again an old case or
two may come to the rescue.

I had thought of cutting a square at the back and curling a lip inside
for the PCI cards to screw to.

And most importantly, swmbo will be much happier with me for spending 40
quid and making a little mess than blowing 160+ :-)
