Nik is spot on, this is not and amp.

Essentially it is simply a volume control which can be operated by remote
control. In multi room applications you generally have an amplifier feeding
each audio zone, and this can be expensive to do everywhere. As a
compromis=
e
you can create a sub zone from a main zone by using a local volume control
supplying a second set of speakers - maybe the ensuite fed off the main
bedroom zone might be one example. However, in many cases this secondary
volume control is simply a rotary knob and therefore can only be operated
locally. The difference with the AL-1 is that this unit is electronic and
designed to be operated via remote control. It may seem expensive when
viewed as a volume controller, but in the custom install market I would
think it would be gratefully received as these sub zones could now be
operated via Crestron/AMX etc.

But it seems that it's not an amplifier. It just changes line level.
Doesn'=
t
have speakers output, from what I can see. Neither power rating. Nik
