IMHO, it will look horrible!!

I've used rainwater tube before now when a client wanted cables run
outside. It was slightly more aesthetically pleasing and didn't fill up
with water, which Galv trunking would do!

However, if you like the utilitarian look of galvanised trunking, there's
no reason why you shouldn't use it. Just remember to earth it.

Subject: [ukha_d] Routing cables outside

Just a quickie....

I need to run a number of cables between the dining room and the lounge
(DVI-D, Ethernet, Phone, Serial, Digital Audio, S-Video, UHF and some
extra CAT5). To avoid chewing up the decor, and to circumvent the
fireplace that's in the way, I'm intending taking it outside, along the
wall and back in again. I've already done this with 2xCAT5 and 1xUHF in
20mm plastic conduit, but there's no spare capacity.

Instead, I'm planning to use some 50mm or 75mm galvanised steel trunking
(the stuff with the separate lid). Any opinions?

Steve
