Officially known as Thrips there are apparently over 6000 species world
wide (I'm now an expert!!!)

This may be worth a go :

Hot-pink sticky cards have been found to be the most attractive color for
trapping thrips, though blue is often still used. Sticky traps should be
placed 1 to 2 inches above the crop canopy so that the bottoms of the traps
are just above the crop, at the rate of one or two per 1,000 square feet.

They've been a pain for me too in the last 3 days. That would be a mixture
of hot weather, the fields that I have on two sides of my house, and the
need to keep windows open to cool down. They seem to get everywhere.
There's
a large number of dead thunder flies beneath the light bulb in my study. It
seems they are attracted to the light and then get killed by the heat. I
think I'm going to get a UV bug killer.
