Yes, its going to make a mess :-(
In rooms with false ceilings (hall, kitchen, bathrooms, utility) the
cables can be taken through the ceilings and then dropped down behind
the plasterboard to the wallplates. Small sections will need to be
cut out of the plasterboard to get the cables over the noggins (right
word?).
For rooms without false ceilings (living room and bedrooms), cable
will have to go behind the skirting board (I was going to take this of
anyway to install wood flooring).
