Fingerprint scanners
Can anyone who has a Compaq fingerprint scanner tell me whether it=92s
poss=
ible to use them as an input to a HA system or whether the drivers are
limi=
ted to username/password applications?
I had a thought that it might be nice to have one in the AV Room, linked

a Cat5 to my HA server to perform a simple task such as turning all
equipme=
nt on/off. (I=92ve got HV, ACE, HS etc so the control side is not a
problem=
). Can a parallel device be run over Cat5 successfully (providing there
are=
enough data lines)?
