Depends what you want to stop popping up...

My recommendations are:

To stop everything, try something like PopKill
http://www.bsoft.ic24.net/popkill.htm
which is free.

For something more selective, try Filtergate http://www.filtergate.com/
which, after a trial, you have to buy for $34.95.
