Mr Plod doesnt like alarms.

To have a guaranteed police repsponse you need to have:
* A DD:243 compliant alarm system, connected to
* an alarm response centre, and
* the police have to inspected and confirmed they like it, and issued
a URN (unique reference number)to the installation, and
* it mustn't false alarm, or they'll sulk and not turn up.

so yes, this is not a DIY prospect.

The nearest you'll get to DIY is fitting an alarm system compatible
DD:243, and finding an alarm company willing to "take it over"
