mmm... that reminds me, apart from the mic's in the Comfort keypads, I have
a network of microphones installed (or nearly installed but waiting months
for me to finally put them in) around the house, originally for voice
recognition. Just need to work out how to enable these for remote
listening.

I have a Shure intelligent mic mixer - has an input port that allows
switching of mic sources. I guess I rig this up to HV to allow manual
switching and then need to work out how to control it remotely (touch tone
menu would be good). Also need to work out how to feed the audio to the
phone.

What I really need is a more flexible replacement for the Comfort menu
system that I can program for my needs. I already have most of the kit
needed I think.

Any thoughts on programmable dial-in software that can link to info
provided by HV, Comfort, ACE etc?

Paul.

And this would serve as a verified alarm for the Police. ACPO dictates
that the police will not attend unless the alarm has been verified. The
various alarm companies have several means of verifying alarms. They
range from calling the house for a password, to video cameras monitored
remotely. My favorite on a cost/efficiency scale was the one that used
mic's in the PIR's to listen to the house from the ARC, and call the
police if they could hear burglars. much cheaper than video systems and
supriseingly they had a better "hit" rate too.
