Gareth,
The Loewe 28" tubes are superb. Loewe is a German company which is
sort of the "Linn of tellys". They are not as cheap as some, but
tend
to come with both better quality and (in my experience) reliability.
I would be very careful and avoid choosing from any of the high
street multiples - they tend to set up all tellys to
the "manufacturers standard settings"...
... which is fine, except Sony cottoned onto this, and now have
the "boot" colour and brightness settings set about 20% high, so
they
stand out on a shelf of competitors products.
I would advise you go off to an independant hi-fi specialist, and see
what they say - you may be pleasantly surprised at the prices once
you move away from the mainstream channels.
