you can only reliably get pp2p running through a router

1. set your machine up to accept vpn incoming
2. you have to configure a pass-thru for ports 1723 and 50 on your firewall
to go directly to your machine

The latter is sometimes knows as pass-thru or redirect

then from the external, you hit your visible IP address, and the router
will
pass it thru

Subject: [ukha_d] OT-ish VPN over ADSL

Is it possible to configure Windows 2000 or XP Home to act as a VPN server?
I know the immediate answer is yes but......
1) The pc's sit behind a router.
2) The router supports VPN pass thru
3) They only have an internal IP address
4) The router uses a static IP address and there can be only one..

Can anyone help or advise please.

Thanks

Neil
