It's all about the display with the slim,. As you can see it just looks
like a VFD on stand. You can read it form miles away, it's always clear
and great in any light conditions. Unlike the one on the rio!

It has hardware mp3 decoding in the box, and the sound quality is pretty damned good. It would be my personal choice over rio and audiotron. It
falls down if your collection includes oggs or other formats it can't
decode. If your collection is larger than 30,000 tracks the slim will
handle it natively, and navigating those tracks is a breeze with the
supplied sony remote. It's basically the cream of the crop when it comes to this section of the market.

TBH, nothing here tells me that the Slim is greater or worse - the both have rj45 in, and audio out !
