Hold fire on that Doogie....
I plan to change my drive over again soon.... I want to swap the 7200rpm
one
for a (hopefully quieter) 5400rpm one. I have the new drive ready to go, -
I'm just waiting for the TurboNet card bulk buy to come to fruition, as I
don't want to have to pull the Tivo out more than once...
When the time comes, I plan to clear down the now playing list, and take a
new backup (complete with all my season passes & thumb data), and
restore
that onto the new drive...
I then plan to delete all the season passes & thumb data as well from
the
7200rpm drive and take another backup of it in that state...
At the end of which I will have:
1 x 120GB drive with all my season passes & thumb data intact
1 x Tivo.bak file of the above
1 x 120GB drive with no season passes or thumb settings
1 x Tivo.bak file of the above
Only when I have all the above, I plan to put in the new 5400rpm drive,
then
install the Turbonet card, then go through all the fun & games I've
been
reading posts about for the last week vis-a-vis configuring the TurboNet
&
TivoWeb... - If it goes horribly wrong, I have multiple levels of backup
available to fall back on... I plan to keep both of the .bak files
indefinately, I'll likely burn them to CD's... either of which I'd be happy
to make available at the meet...
